Karin Maaka is a vampire who migrated to Japan two centuries ago, but unlike ordinary vampires, she doesn't drink blood; instead, she produces it. As a result, she is forced to bite others to get rid of the excess blood. Due to having excess blood, Karin Maaka occasionally suffers from nosebleeds. She also doesn't exhibit the typical behaviors of a vampire and is able to be exposed to sunlight like humans. Karin Maaka lives an ordinary life like a human and wants to attend high school. She even sleeps in a regular bed like humans. However, Karin Maaka's peaceful and trouble-free life undergoes changes with the transfer of a new student named Kenta Usui to her class. Whenever Karin gets close to Kenta, her body's blood increases abnormally and intensely.
